Army Materiel Command Fellows Program
AMC Fellows Program
The AMC Fellows program is a five-year program designed to build a multifunctional, mobile cadre of highly qualified personnel for AMC. AMC Fellows are full-time federal civilian employees and are paid full salary during all phases of the program.The first two years of the program include course-work conducted at
AMC's Logistics Leadership Center in Texarkana, Texas and Texas A&M
University -Texarkana resulting in a masters degree in business. The remaining 47 months of the program consist of a series of geographically rotational on-the-job training assignments.
Education expenses are paid and a signing bonus of up to 25 percent of base salary may be offered.Fellows are compensated at the GS-7 through 13 pay grades (Federal Salary Table).

2008 Hearst Fellowship Information
The Nonprofit Sector Research Fund, a grantmaking program of the Aspen Institute in Washington, DC, offers the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship three times annually. The fellowship, which is based on academic excellence and need, is open to both undergraduate and graduate students who are members of minority groups. The Hearst Fellow serves as an intern with the Fund. Through this program, the Fund seeks to introduce a diverse group of students to issues relating to philanthropy, volunteerism, and nonprofit organizations. Recipients may arrange with their colleges or universities to receive academic credit for this experience.
The Nonprofit Sector Research Fund was established in 1991 to expand understanding of nonprofit activities, including philanthropy and its underlying values, by making grants to support research undertaken by scholars and nonprofit practitioners.
Activities:
In his or her internship,
the Hearst Fellow undertakes general research and program support for
the Fund’s grantmaking and outreach efforts.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for
this fellowship is a highly motivated continuing graduate or
undergraduate student from an underrepresented community. She or he
should have an excellent academic record and also have the following:
- 1. Outstanding research skills;
2. A background in the social sciences or humanities;
3. Excellent writing and communication skills;
4. Demonstrated financial need; and
5. American citizenship.
Fellowship Stipend:
A fellowship grant
of between $2,500 and $5,000 will be awarded, depending on the
recipient’s educational level, financial need, and time commitment.
Application Procedure:
There is no application form for this fellowship.
Please send: 1) a letter of interest (include information about dates
of availability for the fellowship); 2) a resume; 3) a transcript; 4) a
letter from the appropriate university financial aid officer certifying
demonstrated financial need; and 5) two letters of reference to:

Applications are considered three times annually based on the timing of applicants’ availability:

Selection Process:
A committee of the Fund’s governing Council will select the recipient based on the requirements above.

Cardinal Health Minority Scholarship Program
The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges is pleased to announce the new Cardinal Health Minority Scholarship Program for students planning a career in the healthcare industry. The scholarship criteria follow. Note that they prefer business-related majors.
- Citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree program at an OFIC institution
- African American, Hispanic, Asian/East Indian or Native American
- Sophomore, junior, or senior in the 2008-2009 academic year
- Minimum GPA 3.0 calculated on a 4.0 scale
- Must express a valid interest in a career in the healthcare industry
- Must submit a complete application package by the deadline
Preference for selection will be given to applicants who also meet the following qualifications:
- Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or Operations/Logistics major
- Qualify for financial aid as verified by their college or university
Selected scholars must attend the Summer/Fall 2008 Cardinal Health Scholars Recognition Luncheon in Dublin, Ohio. Cardinal Health Scholars will be highly considered for internships.
Three (add-on) awards of $1,500 will be made. Cardinal Health is very interested in cultivating relationships with their scholars and most scholars will be offered an opportunity for excellent internships, however no commitment to an internship or future employment is required.
