Denison Internship Program
Now in its 21st year, the Denison Internship Program (formerly called "May Term") provides students with the opportunity to explore career fields of interest to them and to apply their academic coursework to the world of work. Every December Career Services publishes an internship resource catalog that outlines the internship program, lists "Denison Exclusive" & national internship opportunities and contains sample resumes and cover letters. Students are also welcome to arrange/design internships on their own. Please contact Ashley Strausser Assistant Director, with any questions or for more information.

A Denison University residence hall with limited kitchen facilities is available during the summer for local internship responsibilities.
The deadline for applying for summer housing at Denison is typically mid-April. Students must apply for housing by contacting the Office of Campus and Residential Life. Housing is provided on a first come first serve basis. Having an internship in the Licking County/Columbus metro area does not guarantee housing on campus. Students must apply by the deadline.

"My Internship gave me a broad idea for all aspects of the business world. I obtained information about sales, marketing, research analysis, and verbal and written communication skills. The strength of this internship was that it was very well rounded. I was never doing the same type of activity for more than a few days at a time."
~Andrew Johnson '09, News America Marking, Cincinnati, Ohio
"My internship was a wonderful learning experience. I was able to apply and recognize many of the terms and theories I had learned in class in the work I was doing. I was involved and active in the daily activities of the organization. I was also given a lot of freedom to conduct interviews and make observations on my own time. I feel like what I learned in the classroom at Denison came to life in this setting."
~Becca Keiser '10, Intern with the Center for Organizational Reform, Spokane, Washington
"Summer
internships are one of the best experiences a student can pursue. On
its most basic level, it's a resume builder that looks great to future
employers and schools. But it's also more than that. Internships are an
opportunity to continue your education, get some experience in an area
you might end up pursuing as a career, and ultimately learn about
yourself and your interests."
~John Burzinski '09, Minnesota ACLU, St. Paul, Minnesota
"The Denison Internship Program at Lacaster Pollard has a long history of success. Out of it has come some very valuable projects, as well as many extremely valuable employees."
~Nick Gesue, Lancaster Pollard, Columbus, OhioDo you need money to help offset the cost of an internship?
- There are stipends available, through Alumni donations, for which students may apply in order to offset the cost of doing a summer internship. Applications for the stipends were available in Career Services beginning Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, and were due on Thursday, March 5, 2009 by 4:30pm. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
