Denison Internship Program
Now in its 20th year, the Denison Internship Program (formerly called "May Term") provides students with the opportunity to explore career fields of interest to them and to apply their academic coursework to the world of work. Every December Career Services publishes an internship resource catalog that outlines the internship program, lists "Denison Exclusive" & national internship opportunities and contains sample resumes and cover letters. Students are also welcome to arrange/design internships on their own. Please contact Ashley Johnston Associate Director, with any questions for more information.

"Having the chance to work with people with mental illnesses was one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences. I was able to spend time one on one with patients suffering from the illnesses that I learned about in the classroom and to see how these diseases affect every aspect of their lives." Alexandra Geneser '08, Austin State Hospital Psychiatric Unit, Austin, TX
"My internship at the City of Newark opened my eyes to the intricate workings of society. Until then, I had largely taken for granted its complexity, and the importance of personal involvement and understanding within the community." Joel Bendtsen '08, City of Newark, Newark, OH
"Headlands Center for the Arts has hosted Denison interns for sixteen years. The program has become an institution within our institution! Denison Interns have consistently proved to be valuable additions to our workforce as well as treasured members of our community." Holly Blake, Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, CA
"The Denison students have come to this program with high ideals, strong skill levels, and enthusiasm to work. I have found their work quite helpful to the organization, and I believe they gain substantially from their work experience." Charles G. Brown, National Counsel for Consumers for Dental Choice, Washington, DC

The deadline for applying for summer housing at Denison is typically mid-April. Students must apply for housing by contacting the Office of Campus and Residential Life. Housing is provided on a first come first serve basis. Having an internship in the Licking County/Columbus metro area does not guarantee housing on campus. Students must apply by the deadline.
