On-Campus Recruitment

Seniors have the option of interviewing for jobs on-campus as they begin their job search. Each year between 40 - 50 employers come to campus to interview seniors for positions in diverse career fields. Some types of employers, however, are able utilize on-campus recruiting more than others. Career Services strives to attract a wide-range of employers for on-campus interviews, participation in career fairs, or as a referral only employer.

INTERVIEWING EXPECTATIONS

1) Each student can have a maximum of 7 interviews throughout the year. * Exception:  Interviews earned by attending workshops in the Fall (for Spring interviews)  and/or select fall recruiters (I.E.S. or  E.R.G. ).

2) You are responsible for showing up at your interview on-time. Cancellations within less than 48 hours and "no shows" will result in your cancellation from ALL subsequent interviews.

3) Attendance at Employer Information Sessions, if the employer holds a session,  attendance is required of interviewees.

Note: For most students their job search will continue after graduation. Career Services encourages you to take advantage of the services it provides while you are stillON-CAMPUS, especially workshops, programs, and interview opportunities.An individual appointment can help you develop a job search plan. Important Deadlines & Dates for Seniors

PREPARATION FOR ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS

1) ATTENDANCE at one Senior Orientation Session (S.O.S) isrequired to participate in On-campus Recruitment. You are alsorequired to register with Career Services using my DENISON eXPERIENCE. 

2) Prepare yourself! Familiarize yourself with the interviewing and job search process. Be sure to attend Employer Information Sessions.   You can view dates of upcoming Employer  Information Session in my DENISON eXPERIENCE by clicking on Calendar.

3) Do your homework! Find out about employers and the position BEFORE your interview. How? Attend the information session, look for the company web-site (see links below), look in the Career Services Resource Library for company literature, search periodicals for related articles, access professional organizations and contacts, and/or talk with Denison alumni who have a connection with the employer. 4) Employer Information Sessions are required for those on the interview schedule, however, anyone may attend to gain information about career options with a particular group. 

5) To obtain interview "experience" do a mock interview which can be a 15-20 minute video-taped (your choice) "interview" followed by a review of your video with one of Career Services professional staff.

6) For RESUME assistance or a quick question, drop-in hours are offered Monday through Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Career Services.
