Brooke Parr completed a major in English/Professional Writing, with minors in Journalism and Literature from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She was first introduced to the field of career services as an undergraduate student intern for Capital’s office of Career Development. This internship, which originally consisted of writing a weekly newsletter, quickly transformed into ongoing student engagement and the development of a true passion for working alongside college students as they explore, identify, and develop their academic and career goals. This led her to the University of Dayton, where she completed her Master’s degree in College Student Personnel. As a graduate student, Brooke worked as a Graduate Assistant Career Advisor for two years. She also completed internships at Urbana University and Sinclair Community College. Her thesis involved in-depth interviews and extensive research on displaced workers and the effects of job loss on identity. Brooke has been at Denison since September of 2011. She is inspired daily by her student interactions and is dedicated to forming a partnership with students to promote successful implementation and achievement of their individual career aspirations.
