Career Services
Your Future career opportunities and choices are affected by the planning you do now. Completing a successful collegiate experience and managing a life time of career challenges do not just happen -- they are planned! The following checklist is provided to help you plan for a successful future:
I have read and completed the Checklist for First YearI am keeping a list of all my projects, activities, honors, and committee memberships that can later be used on a resume or as examples to use in an interview.
I have completed my self-exploration exercises and:
1) need further assistance with choosing the right major for myself.
2) have successfully decided on the right major for myself. In doing so, I have completed the following:
- discussed my career plans with my parents, advisor and friends
- completed the Campbell Interest and Skills Survey (CISS).
- obtained information about occupations by finding people in jobs that interest me, and interviewed with them about the nature of their jobs
- declared a major with my college office
I have increased my knowledge of careers in which I may be interested in by visiting Career Services, 306 Burton D. Morgan Center.
I have enrolled in electives that will give me additional desirable skills needed in the work force.
I have obtained a monthly schedule of workshops available through Career Services, which will help me with the resume writing and interview skills.
I will attend Career Services Annual Fairs:
- Employer Career Fair in October
- Graduate/Professional School Fair in October
- Non-Profit Career Fair in February
All Fairs are from 11:30am-3:00pm in the Slayter Union.
I have started to attend the workshops sponsored by Career Services
I have applied for a Denison Internship to help me obtain work experience related to my career goals.
