Denison Career Network
You'll be amazed at how supportive Denison alumni are in sharing their advice and expertise! The Denison University Career Network is a resource of alumni that helps students and other alumni with career related information and advice. Networking information can be exchanged regarding careers, educational backgrounds, organizations, and other career interests.
As a senior, you can establish a confidential credential file of references for employment and evaluation for graduate and professional school. We'll maintain your file for five years and disseminate credentials at your request.
In order for faculty and staff to write a letter of recommendation for you, it is highly encouraged that you follow the guidelines from this pdf file: Asking for Letters of Recommendation [pdf]Workshops, Panels & Career Fairs
You'll be invited to attend workshops and seminars conducted by our staff on topics such as resume writing, interviewing, networking, and the job search. Visiting alumni present information sessions and programs about their own career paths and share advice about career opportunities for liberal arts students. Employers also visit campus to present information and to discuss with you career opportunities.
You won't want to miss the Career Fair and Graduate/Professional School Fair at Denison each fall! Over 80 employer organizations and graduate/professional schools come to campus to meet you and talk with you about opportunities for employment and advanced degrees. Don't wait until your senior year to attend this one!
Seniors have the option of interviewing for jobs on-campus as they begin their job search. Each year between 40-50 employers come to campus to interview seniors for positions in diverse career fields. Some types of employers, however, are able to utilize on-campus recruiting more than others. Career Services strives to attract a wide-range of employers for on-campus interviews, participation in career fairs, or as referral only employer. Click here for more information.

Internship Program
Participating in the Denison Internship Program is a great way to start exploring possible career directions and to try out your liberal arts skills in the workplace. We'll put you in touch with a amazing number of internship possibilities through the Denison Internship Catalog where you'll find listings for internships in law firms, hospitals, bank, corporations, social service agencies, Congressional offices, museums, environmental organizations, schools, and more. You can also apply for national internships, or you can even design your own internship, based on your specific interests and needs. Although neither credit nor a grade is awarded, successful completion of a Denison internship is recorded on your transcript.
Internships are an essential complement to your Denison education. Graduating seniors often claim that their internship experiences are the most important factors in determining their career direction. And employers tell us that internships are often the deciding factor in the recruitment process. Pre-professional students find that reference letters from internship supervisors strengthen their applications and prepare them well for professional school.
