Antivirus Software
For Students
Denison provides McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software to students for installation on one personally-owned computer per student. It is available for both Windows and Mac computers.
Denison requires up-to-date antivirus software on all computers connecting to the network. You are not required to use McAfee VirusScan if you have alternate antivirus software with a current subscription for virus definitions. (See list of acceptable antivirus software applications.)
Important Notes:
- This software is intended for installation on your personally owned computer only.
- Be sure to uninstall any other antivirus software, including previous versions of McAfee, BEFORE you install this software.
You can download McAfee VirusScan from the Software for Students area on the Computing tab in myDenison and install it on your personal computer.
For University-owned Computers
Denison licenses McAfee antivirus software for all university-owned computers. It is one of the standard software applications installed on all faculty/staff computers. If you do not have McAfee installed on your Denison computer, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 740-587-6395 or helpdesk@denison.edu to request installation of it.
For Faculty and Staff for Home Use
Denison's McAfee contract allows faculty/staff members to download and use McAfee VirusScan Enterprise software on one personally-owned computer that is used at home for work.
