Media Technology Services
MTS provides a range of services to support Denison's use of both digital and analog audio-visual equipment. To arrange for these services, please call the MTS Service Desk at 587-6221, or visit us at the Information Commons Desk on the third floor of the Library. Many services require reservations to be made well in advance of your need.
In addition, the MTS staff manages University-owned audio-visual equipment that is distributed into classrooms, labs and offices (not including AV equipment in the residence halls such as lounge televisions). We plan for, specify, install, maintain and replace the equipment. MTS staff conducts an annual AV equipment inventory.
The staff also provides consulting services that include training, documentation, online tutorials, support and limited production work for faculty and administrative projects using media technologies, both analog and digital.
MTS Service Desk
Monday through Thursday - 8:30am to midnight
Friday - 8:30am to 9:00pm
Saturday - 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Sunday - 2:00pm to midnight
At the Service Desk, you can:
- Book selected pieces of AV equipment, and receive basic instruction in their use. Requires reservations made at least 24 hours in advance. Items are picked up and returned at the Library Circulation Desk.
- Use equipment to duplicate audio and videotapes during normal business hours (you must supply blank tapes; staff cannot edit/duplicate materials for you).
- View and, if appropriate, tape satellite broadcasts or present them live in Library room 102. Requires reservations made at least 48 hours in advance.
- Arrange to have faculty-approved, on-campus events videotaped. Requires reservations made at least two weeks in advance. The speaker or performer must have signed the MTS Release Form in advance of the event.
- Arrange to use modern videoconferencing services, some of which incur telecommunications costs. Requires fourteen days notice for work with new videoconferencing sites, and seven days notice for sites with which MTS has experience.
- Get help using any of Denison's audio visual facilities.
