Mission and Vision

The mission of Technical Services is to

  • Provide the Denison community with a reliable, secure, and managed information infrastructure facilitating the transfer of knowledge.
  • Explore, recommend, and implement new technologies, which contribute to the educational mission of Denison University.
  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the information infrastructure that leads to empowering the user.

Overview

Technical Services focuses primarily on installing and maintaining the University's servers (Email, Web, Novell, and Calendaring, for example) and the network which allows the campus community to access those servers and each other (Wireless, Virtual Private Network, and ethernet networking, etc.).

Technical Services' administers network services accounts for the Denison community. They also provide the infrastructure to:

  • connect to the Internet and Intranet
  • maintain secure storage space that is archived on a regular basis
  • protect network resources.
