Support - How Do I . . .?
Sponsor a Guest Account
Temporary and registered Guest Access will be provided to campus visitors after an on-line request is made by a Denison sponsor. An authorized Denison sponsor is any employee or current student of the University.
To ensure that a visitor to campus has Internet or other network service for the appropriate time period desired, a sponsor will need to create their guest account(s) up to 2 weeks in advance of the visitor(s) arriving on campus. To ensure a smooth process, it is recommended that accounts are setup in advance, if possible. To create guest accounts:
Visit MyDenison (You will need your e-mail username and password.)
Go to the "Computing" tab.
Look for the "DU Guest Access" channel in the left column
Click Go to Guest Access
Enter the name of the guest that you will be sponsoring.
If you have more than one guest, select create multiple guest accounts from the "Select an action" list box on the upper right corner of your browser window.
The number of guests you can sponsor is limited as shown on the create guest account page. If you receive a message that the number of guests you have entered is more than permitted, please contact the Help Desk at x6395 or helpdesk@denison.edu.
Select the Start Date the account(s) need to be active.
Select the Days the account(s) are needed.
By default 1 day however, you can set it for up to 2 weeks.
If your guest(s) needs longer, please contact the Help Desk at x6395 or helpdesk@denison.edu.
You're Done!
Within 10 minutes your account(s) will be created and ready for use based on the Start Date you selected.
To view your guest account(s) and obtain their user ID and password, select show my guests from the "Select an action" list box on the upper right corner of your browser window.
You can then write down or print that information and give it to your guest(s).
Guests can change their passwords if they would like.
Guest accounts will expire at midnight on the last day they are active.
In accordance with Denison's Acceptable Use Policy, network accounts and passwords should never be shared. Rather, temporary authorized access for Guests to appropriate network services should be accomplished by the process described above.
