Support - How Do I . . .?
Use My Personal Workspace
The Novell network offers each member of the Denison community a folder to store his or her data files. The folder is available wherever that person logs into the LAN. By default, each account holder receives 100MB of disk space. The folder is called:
- U: drive, on Windows computers
- CALISTO\PERSONAL (or some alias referencing this location), on Macintosh computers for faculty
- PROTEUS\PERSONAL, on Macintosh computers for students.
This personal storage provides:
- Mobility: Personal storage folders are available wherever the person authenticates to the LAN (i.e. labs, offices, etc...).
- Security: Access to personal storage folders (U: drive) requires password authentication to the LAN.
- Backup: All data files residing on the LAN are backed up on a nightly basis using a high capacity data archival system. Tapes from this system are then moved to a safe for added protection.
