Register a Computer as a Server

To register your computer as an internet server, exclude it from the campus firewall, or allow off-campus computers to connect to yours, submit the form below.

Be aware that this allows users you might not recognize to try to connect to your computer. Your machine should have an active, up-to-date anti-virus program, a personal firewall, and all of the latest security updates. All computer users, including server hosts, are bound by the Acceptable Use Policy [pdf].

To register, fill out this form completely. You can get your IP address by typing ipconfig /all in a command prompt. Or if you are behind a router, you may need the IP address of the router. You can find that in your router config or visit http://www.whatismyip.com/.
