Phishing attempts
Denison received a couple phishing attempts this weekend. One message was purportedly from “Webmaster Department (info@webmaster.org)” with a subject of “Dear Account User” and a To: address of ”undisclosed-recipients:;”. The body of this message tries to convince you that you need to update an account profile. It requests your personal information that includes your name, birthdate, password, etc… and a reply address that goes to gmail.com. The other message was purportedly from “help@webmaster.com” with a subject of “Dear Web Mail User” and a To: address of ”undisclosed-recipients:;”. The body of this message tries to convince you that you need to respond because of account maintenance and requests your username, password and birthdate and has a reply-to address that goes to “mail2webmaster.com”. Do not respond to these messages. Please delete and ignore them. They are an attempt to steal, at minimum, your email account, at maximum, your identity.
