Interface
Workspace
There are three parts to a workspace.
On the left you see a workflow, which is where different desks are located and where you can search for stories.

In the middle is the list of stories and media that you have checked out. In other words, you have been working on these stories and they have not yet been published.

On the right hand side you see options that allow you to check a particular story in, delete it, or edit it.

Check In/Check Out
Checking out a story:
To check out a story or media means that you are retrieving a story or a media file from the shelf or from a desk, and adding it to your own personal workspace. You are now the only person who can edit this story.
When on your workspace, click on your workflow. If you'd like to check out a media file, click on your workflow media. If you would like to check out a story, click on workflow pages. Underneath Actions click on Find Stories or Find Media, respectively. For the rest of this walkthrough I will be referring only to checking out a Story, however, all the information below applies to Media as well.

Once on the Find Stories page, search for desirable page.
You can use Basic Search or Advanced Search, which allows you to assign more specific search parameters.
More than one story may come up in process of searching. To make sure you check out the right story, preview the stories by clicking on their respective titles.

When you find the desired story, check the box next to it, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click Check Out.

The story has now been added to your personal workspace. You will be redirected to the Story Profile where you can make all the necessary changes.

Check in:
Once you finish editing the story you checked out, you have a few options:
- Check it in to Shelve Desk, which contains all prior versions of the story
- Check it in to Edit Desk, where others with access to that desk can also edit this story
- Check it in to Approval Desk, where others will look over the changes and publish the story
- Check it in and Publish, which means all the saved changes will be live on the Web and accessible to all
- Cancel Checkout, which means that none of the changes you have made will be saved, and there will be no record of you checking out the story

Story/Element Profile - Save/Edit
Once you check out the story, it is automatically saved to your personal workspace (for more information see Check In/Check Out walkthrough).
To edit the story, click Edit located to the right of the story title, which will redirect you to the story profile.

Once on the story profile, you can make all the necessary changes.
When finished, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save. It will preserve all the changes made to the story and keep it on your workspace.
View Versions and Revert
Check out the desired story, then scroll down to the bottom of the page.
In the bottom right corner you will see the Revert button, drop down box, and two links: View and Diff.

To view differences between the two versions, select the version that you want to compare the current version to from the drop-down box. Then click Diff.

You will be directed to
a page that shows the differences between the two versions.

If you wish to compare different versions, scroll down to Select Diff Version section and choose versions that you would like to compare.
When you are done, click Return, which will take you back to the current story profile.

To simply view one of the previous versions, rather than compare it to the current one, select the version you want to look at from the drop-down box and click View.
You will be taken back to the older version. You can preview it by clicking on URI on top of the pages, but you can't make any changes to it.
To return to the current version, click Return.

If you decide that you prefer one of the previous versions to the current version of the story, select the version that you like from the drop-down box, then click Revert button.

By doing so, the older version becomes the current version. You can make changes and it will be saved as the newest version.
