Personalizing your portal: Skins and Bookmarks
Your version of myDENISON doesn't have to look like everyone else's. You can choose from several color schemes and add your own favorite links to fit your needs.
Changing myDENISON's look: Skins
myDENISON is "skinnable." In addition to different skins in Denison colors, you can choose skins designed for quick downloading and that address accessibility issues.
To change the skin in myDENISON, select Change Layout & Skin from the options list in upper left corner of your screen, then select Choose Skin. From the list, check the button beside the skin you want to use and choose Apply.
Your Personal Bookmarks Channel
The Bookmarks channel allows you to enter your favorite links, just like you would do in a browser on your personal computer. Because you can access myDENISON from anywhere, the links in your bookmark channel can follow you.
Find the Bookmarks channel in your portal. By default, it is located under the myStuff tab. If you can't find it there, add it now. The Bookmarks channel contains a list of links and short descriptions of the pages they go to. You can add, delete, or create folders of bookmarks.
Bookmark Folders
If you have lots of bookmarks, it's often easier to find the one you want if you break them up into folders. Folders can be opened to display the bookmarks they contain or closed to conserve space.
To add a folder to your bookmarks channel, click the picture of a "+" and a folder from the strip of images across the top of the bookmarks channel. The channel changes, prompting you to enter a name for the folder. If you have existing folders, checking the button next to one puts the new folder inside of it. Once you've placed and named your folder, choose the Add button to save your changes.
To delete an unwanted folder, click the picture of a "-" and a folder. When the channel expands, check the boxes next to the folder(s) you want to delete. Note: all bookmarks inside these folders will also be deleted!
Adding and Deleting Bookmarks
To add a bookmark, click the picture of a "+" and a bookmark. The channel expands and asks you to choose a folder to hold your new bookmark, and to enter a name, URL, and description. Don't forget to add http:// to the beginning of your URL! When you're finished entering this information, click Add to save your changes.
To delete a bookmark, click the picture of the "-" and a bookmark. The channel expands to allow you to check the box by the bookmark(s) you want to delete. Click Delete to save your changes.
Clicking Cancel at any time contracts the channel and removes any changes you made.
