First, find an available proxy server from this list. Search for a server and find it's port number. Then, follow the instructions below to set up your browser to use a proxy server every time you go online.

Internet Explorer

  1. Click View in the menu bar and choose Internet Options.
  2. Click Connection
  3. Check the box beside 'Access the Internet using a proxy server'
  4. In the Address bar type name of the server (e.g. proxy.siol.net)
  5. In the Port space type port number (e.g. 3128)
  6. Click Advanced
  7. Check the box beside 'Use the same proxy server for all protocols'
Netscape Communicator

  1. Click Edit in the menu bar and choose Preferences
  2. Click Advanced
  3. Click Proxies
  4. Click Manual proxy configuration
  5. Click View
  6. For HTTP and FTP type name of the server (e.g. proxy.siol.net) and the port number (e.g. 3128)
