VPN Tutorial for Windows
A brief tutorial outlining the features of the VPN client. The client should already be installed on your computer. If you have not yet installed it, click here.
- Open VPN Client program
After installation, you will see a brief "splash screen" with the Denison VPN logo, followed by the VPN Client program. Click the "Connect" icon. The VPN Client will now establish a secure link with the Denison VPN server.

Figure A: - Log In
When it has successfully established that link, it will prompt you for your LDAP (usually your email) username and password. Enter your username and password in the boxes provided, and click OK.

Figure B: - Connection Complete
Your computer is now securely connected to the Denison University network. You have the same level of access that you would from your office or student residence computer (limited, by the connection you are using).
You will see the program window disappear, and the small yellow lock in their system tray which was previously unlocked will now be locked [Figure C]. You can restore the program window by double clicking the small lock icon in their system tray.
To access Novell from a Denison-owned Windows computer right click the red N in the systems tray and select NetWare login... Enter your Novell username and password in the login prompt. Browse "My Computer" to make sure you have all your network drives.

Figure C: - Disconnect
When you have finished using the secure VPN connection, disconnect by either shutting down your computer (not the same as putting your computer to sleep, suspend, or hibernate), or manually disconnecting by right clicking the locked icon in the system tray shown and selecting Disconnect [Figure D].
