Visitor Network Accounts
Want to try out our wireless network? Do you need to get access to your computer system at another site? Network access for a visit ranging from a few minutes to a fortnight might be accommodated by a guest account.
Community affiliates, such as scholars, lecturers, recruiters, contractors and vendors, are eligible for Novell Visitor accounts. The Denison staff or faculty member sponsoring your visit is responsible for determining and accommodating any network access you may need.
The immediate families of active and retired faculty and staff are eligible for both email and Novell Visitor accounts.
Guest Accounts
If you are visiting on campus and want access to network resources your host can create a guest account. Guest accounts require only a few minutes to setup and can be assigned for a limited period of time. Your account will allow you access to the Internet through our campus computers in the library and computing labs or through our wireless network on your own computer. These accounts require minimal planning and may be all you need during your visit.
Guest accounts expire at the end of the period set by your host when the account is created.
Novell Visitor Accounts
To set up a Novell Visitor account, follow the steps below.
- The sponsor should download and complete the Application for network services [pdf]. The form is also available at the Help Desk.
- Account creation may take up to three business days to complete.
- The visitor must sign the completed application form before he or she is permitted to use the new account.
Novell Visitor accounts are reviewed regularly for login activity. Accounts will expire at the time agreed-upon by the visitor and sponsor at registration, or after 180 days of non-use. If after such time you return to Denison, you and your sponsor are required to complete the account application process again.
Campus affiliates with Novell Visitor accounts may use the campus equipment in assigned areas of the library and the computing labs on Denison's campus equipped with our supported software. Your sponsor might choose to assign equipment within a particular area for your use.
