Alena C. Betton

Staff Counselor, and licensed psychologist, came to Denison in
2005. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The
Ohio State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the
counseling center at the University of California at Davis. Prior to
returning to Denison, she served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the River
Centre Clinic, a private clinic specializing in the treatment of eating
disorders. In addition to her expertise in the treatment of eating
disorders, Alena has extensive experience working with college-aged
students and the issues with which they are faced. She is particularly
interested in relationships, depression, trauma, grief and
multicultural issues. She enjoys working with couples and groups, and
co-facilitates In the Company of Sisters, a support group that
addresses issues effecting women of color.
