James Sturmi Affiliation Staff Title Team Physician

Team Physician, has been team physician at Denison since 1996. A native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he graduated from Mt. Union College in 1984 and the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo in 1989. After completing a residency in Family Medicine at Aultman Hospital in Canton in 1992, he did a one year fellowship in Fitness and Sports Medicine at Grant Medical Center in Columbus and is board certified in both Family Practice and Sports Medicine (CAQ). His academic interests include concussions, supplement and substance abuse, the physician-patient relationship, and performance issues. He is an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoys all sports, hiking, fishing, and cooking. Dr. Sturmi and his wife reside in Granville. They are the parents of five children.
