Institutional Equity and Diversity

Hiring Checklist

  1. Position Approved by Personnel Committee.
  2. Chair/Head submits Section I of the electronic Affirmative Action Advertisement Approval Form.
  3. Director of Institutional Equity and Diversity reviews and approves advertisement and recruitment plan and notifies Chair/Head via email. Chair/Head contacts Provost or Director of Human Resources about posting positions.
  4. Department/unit completes Section I. of the affirmative action survey cards.
  5. Upon receipt of an application, applicant is mailed an affirmative action survey card.
  6. Prior to scheduling interviews, Chair/Head submits Section I. of the electronic Affirmative Action Interview Authorization Form.
  7. After reviewing the applicant pool data, the Director of Institutional Equity and Diversity submits Section II. of the electronic Affirmative Action Interview Authorization Form, with a recommendation to the Provost/Director of Human Resources.
  8. After approval by the Director of Institutional Equity and Diversity, Provost or Director of Human Resources submits Section III. of the electronic Affirmative Action Interview Authorization Form, indicating the number of candidates to be invited to campus.
  9. Before interviews begin, Chair/Head distributes the Guidelines for Interviewing Candidates to all persons who will be meeting with the candidates.
  10. After selection has been made, the Chair/Head submits the electronic Affirmative Action Search Update Form.
