Marijuana and Ritalin

Marijuana

The Web has hundreds of sites devoted to marijuana, some pro, some con. If 'marijuana' is typed into a search engine, most of the sites which come up are pro, either use or legalization. For information about possible negative effects of marijuana please contact research institutions, universities, and government agencies. Some of those sites are listed on the previous page. One additional site which touts itself as a source for balanced information is cheeo.com

Ritalin

The use of Ritalin has become rather controversial in the past few years, with opponents arguing that the drug is over-prescribed, even risky, while proponents argue just as strongly of its benefits, especially for young children with Attention Deficit Disorder. Both views have legitimacy. When investigating this and all drugs, please check with a number of web sites. Typing 'Ritalin' on a Search will provide a considerable number of addresses, some of questionable accuracy and others being well-researched.
Snorting Ritalin or taking it unprescribed involves risk, including infection due to the lack of sterility, the possibility of pieces becoming lodged in nasal passages, arrest, overdose, and, of course, addiction. Even though Ritalin is considered by some to be a mild stimulant, when taken in a dose which exceeds the standard, the use of this or any prescribed drug becomes dangerous. For specific questions about Ritalin, please contact the Health Center in Whisler or the Office of Alcohol & Drug Education in 105 Doane.
