SafeRide
SafeRide provides safe transportation back to campus for any student who finds him/herself in a risky situation because of alcohol. The program is funded through voluntary contributions of Denison students. If a student who drove to a party or bar finds that s/he has consumed alcohol and, therefore, cannot drive, or if a student has ridden with someone who subsequently drank, the student may call the Newark Yellow Cab Company (345-1111) for a free ride back to campus. The free transportation is provided only in the Newark and Heath areas and students are returned only to campus. Each person must show a Denison ID and sign a list presented by the cab driver. Other limitations may apply as well.
Anyone wishing additional information about SafeRide or wishing to become involved, please contact Bud Walkup in the Office of Alcohol & Drug Education.
