Building Services

The Building Services department is responsible for the daily cleaning and project work in all campus buildings. Other responsibilities include: trash collection and recycling; carpet repairs and new installation; window covering repairs and new installation; swimming pool chemical maintenance and cleaning; cleaning of university rental units; movement of equipment and furniture within and between campus buildings; setups required for the support of campus activities and special events; building interior spraying for insects; surplus storage responsibility for university property; upholstery repairs and recovering of furniture used in all campus buildings; snow removal from specified campus locations.

Communicating needs for special services

Normally, all requests for services other than normal daily or project cleaning will be placed by Work Order (see Work Requests). Most Building Services personnel carry pagers and the Manager and Supervisors are in contact with the Physical Plant by two-way radio during normal work hours. For service after work hours, an emergency call-in list is provided to the University Switchboard Operator.
