Mission and Objectives

Mission Statement

The mission of the Physical Plant Department is two fold:

1. To provide for the long term care and needs of the campus facilities and grounds.

2. To support and provide the services required to help all others carry out their missions and exceed their goals.

To plan, operate, maintain, construct and renew the facilities and grounds so that they are congruent with the stated vision and mission of the university in such a manner that the facilities will be in the highest possible state of repair at all times.

To enthusiastically pursue improved methods to provide the services required to help the students, faculty, staff, alumnus, visitors and other constituencies carry out their tasks and missions. To be sensitive to and anticipate the needs of the campus community at all times and actively seek their input in the development and implementation of programs and processes.

Objectives

To carry out our missions in a safe, timely and professional manner, in the most ecologically sensitive and fiscally responsible manner possible.

To respect the dignity of others, encourage and support their personal and professional growth, solicit their input, take responsibility for our own actions, and openly communicate with all parties.

To emphasize quality in all that we do, attend to the details, enthusiastically seek ways to improve our performance and productivity by continuously updating our skills, using appropriate technology and exploring all possibilities for creative and innovative solutions to all challenges.

To be the best that we can be as individuals while keeping in mind that we are part of a team that is strengthened by our commitment to honesty, mutual respect, compassion and appropriate humor in the work place.
