Financial Aid

Application Process: Prospective Students for Regular Decision

All applicants for need-based aid at Denison must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and designate Denison to receive the information by putting in our federal code of 003042.

The FAFSA can be filed online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. The applicant and one of the parents must obtain a federally assigned PIN number at http://www.pin.ed.gov/ to satisfy the signature requirements for the FAFSA.

Applicants who are independent for federal aid, based on the criteria in step 3 of the FAFSA, do not have to submit parental information or have a parental signature on the FAFSA.

Prospective students are encouraged to complete their FAFSA by February 15 to ensure receipt of a tentative need based award prior to the May 1 Admissions decision deadline.

After the FAFSA is filed online, the data from the form and the EFC is sent electronically to the schools designated on the form. If an e-mail address was provided on the FAFSA application, the student will receive an electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) at that e-mail address.

After Denison receives the federal data, financial aid counselors determine the eligibility for need-based aid for all accepted applicants.
