10/16/07 - Successful Stress Management: From Stress to Wellness

An inevitable part of high performance jobs is personal stress.  Project deadlines, critical decisions, volumes of unfinished work, conflict, constant change, expectations, and dealing with students, parents, and the public all build toward excessive stress.  The costs of stress, both direct and indirect, are in the millions of dollars to most organizations, and DENISON UNIVERSITY is likely no different.  This program is designed for employees who operate at high levels of performance who want to learn to recognize and manage their stress more effectively.  The skills learned in this session can be used both professionally and personally.
Upon completion of this program, participants should:

We all recognize that people are different in many ways, including talents, approaches, ways of reacting, and dealing with change.  When those differences get in the way we tend to forget what we know and become frustrated.  By understanding our own style with its advantages and disadvantages as well as knowing the effects of others’ styles, we can bring more harmony into our lives.  The Workplace Big Five is the leading instrument assessing personality in the world of work.
