POSITION: Assistant Construction Manager
DEPARTMENT: Facilities Services
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
Coordinate and manage construction projects for the campus. Act as university liaison with designers, contractors, code officials, construction management firms, university community and others as needed during the construction of university facilities. Assist Facilities Services and university staff in all related areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Daily oversight of construction projects. Ensure that all university requirements and codes are met throughout the construction process. Provide on-site supervision and direction and communicate issues and needs to the various constituencies involved in the projects. Maintain and archive project records, as-builts, and close-out documents.
QUALIFICATIONS
Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural or related Engineering degree or 3+ years documented facilities engineering experience and 3+ years construction supervision experience required. Superior written and oral communication, customer service and organizational skills required. Valid Ohio drivers license required. Strong computer related skills including: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, accounting software (ACT-Banner), maintenance management systems (TMA), environmental controls (TAC) and other applications highly desired. Must be familiar with all construction and operational codes and have a demonstrated commitment to a safe and respectful work environment. Experience in a university construction setting and building commissioning processes highly desired.
