Cost Estimator for Healthfund and Choice POS II
The Cost Estimator Tool is an interactive decision-support tool designed to assist your faculty and staff in making their health plan election during open enrollment. The tool allows faculty and staff to estimate out-of-pocket health care costs, compare plan offerings and determine which plan best meets their needs and those of their family.
To access this easy to use function, check out: Estimator Tool.
Using the Tool
Faculty and Staff complete five easy steps to estimate and view predicted utilization and costs. The user's (faculty & staff) experience will be segmented as follows:
| Step # | Action | Description |
| 1 | Enter Basic Information | The user enters three data elements: plan year, home zip code and number of covered dependents. |
| 2 | Select Plans | Using the pre-loaded benefits information, the user chooses which plans to compare and enters corresponding annual paycheck contributions. If offered, the employee enters competitive plan information. |
| 3 | Select Health Care Services | The employee estimates the volume (utilization) of expected health care services by each covered member. |
| 4 | Modify Health Care Services | The employee may modify utilization estimates from Step 3. |
| 5 | View Your Results | The user compares the selected plans side by side and sees specific cost estimates. |
