Conference Secretary/Assistant, Facility & Event Scheduling
POSITION: Conference Secretary/Assistant, Facility & Event Scheduling
STATUS: Full-time, Non-exempt
SALARY GRADE: Office/Clerical 09
RATE/SALARY START: Minimum $13.13/hr.
BASIC JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY: Assist the Conference & Event Coordinator with all aspects of the Facility & Event Scheduling Department, including secretarial duties as well as event preparation and set-up.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform a wide variety of secretarial and customer relations services. Schedule most campus facilities. Assist with creation of yearly reports. Assist with supervising student staff. Order supplies, submit work orders, and inform campus departments of pertinent information regarding upcoming events. File and maintain departmental records. Provide campus tours for prospective clients as needed. Prepare for the upcoming conference season: compile information for summer conferences and events, schedule facilities for summer use, and type letters of agreement and prepare invoices as needed. Assist with occasional events scheduled by internal and external clients. Assist the coordinator in all aspects during the conference season (April through August). Schedule all conference events and invoice customers, answer extensive incoming phone calls and respond to customers’ requests. Coordinate message services. Assist with student staff supervision. Order supplies and equipment; confirm delivery from external vendors and campus dining/catering services. Distribute and return guest linens, perform limited housekeeping duties to prepare for events and functions, maintain parking control for events, register camp and conference attendees, deliver mail to guests, and set-up tables and chairs for camps/conferences. Frequent extra work hours required during the conference season; additional hours and weekend/holiday work is required. Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent and 3-5 years of office experience with excellent office skills is required. Required: Proficient in WORD, EXCEL, and e-mail; ability to type 45-60 wpm accurately; excellent customer services and communication skills (both written and verbal; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects and stressful workload with accuracy and strong attention to details; ability to maintain confidentiality of work involved; and ability to frequently lift/carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Experience in calendar and scheduling software is highly desired.

Assistant Athletic Trainer - Two Positions Available
Denison University invites applications for two Assistant Athletic Trainer positions. Denison University is an institution with a strong athletic tradition and competes in the NCAA Division III and the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Department of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation offers an Athletic Training Major that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The University is committed to a broad-based program of intercollegiate athletics, sponsoring 23 varsity sports: 12 for women and 11 for men.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE POSITIONS: Serve as an assistant athletic trainer providing athletic training services for the intercollegiate sports program. Assist with pre-participation physical examinations and complete medical documentation. Carry out the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. Provide practice and game coverage of athletic teams. Assist the head athletic trainer with the operation of the sports medicine program according to the administrative practices of the department. Supervise student athletic trainers and perform administrative duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer. Additional duties could include general administrative responsibilities and/or teaching for the department.
QUALIFICATIONS: National Athletic Trainers Association certification and State of Ohio athletic training license required by the starting date. A bachelor's degree and one year of full-time experience as an athletic trainer is required. Candidates must have at least one year of significant and demonstrable experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Candidates need to have successful, proven experience in the field of athletic training and excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a commitment to the NATA Code of Ethic, an understanding of and/or experience in a residential, liberal arts college environment, and demonstrate an understanding of the NCAA Division III philosophy.

Assistant Construction Manager
Denison University, located in Granville, Ohio seeks an experienced construction manager to help oversee the construction of approximately $60 million in new projects during the next 3 to 5 years.
The successful candidate will act as the liaison between the university and construction management firms, design teams, contractors, and other project participants. Experience in all areas of construction design, project management, commissioning and budgetary control is required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required. Experience in a university setting is desired. This temporary full-time position will last for the duration of the planned construction projects, estimated to be 3 to 5 years.

Chief Investment Officer
Denison University, located in Granville, Ohio just outside Columbus, is seeking a Chief Investment Officer to oversee its $700 million endowment. In this newly created position, the successful candidate will oversee a team of three while working closely with the Investment Committee, the Vice President for Finance & Management, and the President of the university.
The Chief Investment Officer is responsible for the oversight of the university’s investments including the endowment, unitrusts, pooled income funds, and gift annuities. The Chief Investment Officer works directly with the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees and with the outside consultant to review asset allocation and to implement strategic changes including additions, withdrawals, hiring and firing of external investment managers. All funds are invested with professional external money managers. The Chief Investment Officer also prepares a monthly investment update for the Investment Committee and a quarterly communication for the full Board of Trustees regarding the current investment environment and the University’s investment strategy for the Endowment.
Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of related work experience in an investment management setting. Ideally, individuals will have broad exposure to all asset classes including alternative investments, and possess an understanding as to how an endowment should be managed. Candidates from endowments, foundations, corporate pension plans, and public plans will be considered, as well as investment managers from money management firms. A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in economics, finance or accounting; a Graduate degree and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred. Head Baseball Coach
Denison University invites applications for the position of Head Baseball Coach. At Denison, academic achievement is emphasized, and participation in intercollegiate sports is an integral part of our students' educational experience. The University has produced 42 Postgraduate Scholarship recipients and finds itself consistently at or near the top of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) all-sports standings. The University is committed to a broad-based program of intercollegiate athletics, sponsoring 23 varsity sports--12 for women and 11 for men.
The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for the organization, leadership and management of all phases of the intercollegiate baseball program. The head coach is responsible for the safety and conduct of the team and operating the program within university, conference and NCAA regulations. Coaching duties include conducting team conditioning, practices and games, making team selections, preparing field for practices and contests, scouting opposing teams and developing and applying team rules. Administrative duties include scheduling of practices and contests, managing the baseball budget, making team travel arrangements, monitoring academic progress of students, supervising assistant coaches and student workers, maintaining team records and statistics, providing the Sports Information Office with appropriate information for publications and press releases and assisting the equipment room with the distribution and maintenance of athletic equipment. Recruiting duties include identifying and contacting prospective students, arranging campus visits, developing printed recruiting materials, assisting the Admissions Office with special events and student retention. Additional duties may include general administrative and/or teaching assignments for the department. The head coach is expected to play an active role in the university community and serve on appropriate university and department committees.
A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and a sound knowledge of intercollegiate baseball and NCAA Division III rules are required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate successful experience in coaching college baseball, recruiting and retaining student-athletes. Candidates must have at least one year of significant and demonstrable experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Candidates need to possess excellent problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of and/or experience in a residential, liberal arts college environment. The ability to teach physical education courses and relate well to students, fellow department members and other colleagues is necessary.
