NEW BUSINESS:
* Bio Reserve. Some Denison staff have expressed concern about Granville residents being able hunt in the reserve to reduce the number of deer. Some staff want to know if they could have the same opportunity to hunt and/or if there could be a lottery that would allow Denison employees the opportunity to participate in the hunt? According to Whitney Stocker, “no one is allowed to hunt on the reserve. There may come a time when we want to get rid of some deer, but we will have professionals come in and cull them.”
* Casual Rates. Some staff wanted to know when they would receive a response about an issue they brought to the VP of Finance concerning elimination of overtime over 8 hours in a day and the impact this would have on jobs on campus with casual rates. Barbara indicated that she was aware of the concern brought forward and assured the group that the matter is still under review and would be properly addressed soon.
HR Updates
* Web Time Entry. HR is still rolling out on-line web time entry. Groups are notified before it is rolled out to them, and some guidance is provided. Academic Secretaries are tentatively scheduled to participate in web-time entry in February.
* Computer Training. Facilities Services will be provided with more computer training at the end of January (1/30 & 1/31). This training is provided to assist department employees with access to the web, email, and DU self service, which also allows them access to direct deposit pay stubs in addition to other employee information.
The next HRAG meeting will be February 6, 2008 in Burton Morgan Room 317.
