PeopleAdmin Web-based Recruiting System

We are excited to announce that Denison University has implemented PeopleAdmin, a web-based recruitment and hiring system. A team comprised of employees from Human Resources, Provost Office, Institutional Equity and Diversity, and ITS has been designing the system since January.

This new system will move us from our current paper-based system to a paperless online system - everything from creating a requisition to screening applicants. The benefits of a paperless approval process and resume distribution will make a huge difference, especially during peak hiring times. At a glance, this new system will allow us to:

* Collect Employment Materials Online - Receive employment applications, resumes, cover letters, and other required documents via the Web

* Screen Applicants Electronically - Use job-specific qualifying questions to dramatically reduce the need to review every application for minimum qualifications.

* Distribute Applications Electronically - Allow Hiring Managers and entire Search Committees to review employment applications, resumes, cover letters and other materials online. Hiring Managers can even track search results and enter reasons for non-selection online.

* Provide Automated Status Updates - Candidates can access job information via a secure Web account. In addition, candidates will receive an email confirmation from the system when their application is received and if they are not selected for a position.

* Create Job Requisitions - Allow approved Hiring Managers to submit job requisitions directly to Human Resources and Provost Office for review, approval and posting.

* Improve Control and Oversight - Allow Human Resources, Provost Office, and Institutional Equity and Diversity to track the status of all recruitments on campus using a variety of standard reports and queries.

Moving forward, all position openings will use the PeopleAdmin system. Training will be provided on Thursdays of June and July from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM to ensure managers are familiar with the system, specifically how to create a job requisition. Faculty chairs and academic secretaries will be trained in mid-August. Watch for future emails with dates and training site locations. We will also meet with Managers and Chairs as necessary to provide training and guidance.
