Summary:
This plan provides partial income replacement benefits in case of an approved total disability whereby the employee is no longer able to work.

Eligibility:
Regular full-time faculty and staff are eligible for insurance under this plan as of the first day of the month coinciding with the completion of one year of service.
Employee Cost:
None. Denison pays the full cost of this program.
Benefit:
If disability is approved following the required six month waiting period, employee receives a percentage of their monthly income. The monthly income benefit equals 60% of an employee's Monthly Wage Base not to exceed a benefit of $10,000 per month, less the sum of the Benefits From Other Sources (i.e. social security, worker's compensation...). In no event will the Minimum Monthly Income Benefit be less than $100; or if greater, 10% of the Monthly Income Benefit before Benefits From Other Sources are subtracted.
