Students, Faculty Honored at 2009 Academic Awards Convocation

Date of Event: April 24, 2009

Posted: April 24, 2009

On the hill, it’s a rite of spring. Every year, with a sense of excitement, the Denison community comes together for the Academic Awards Convocation. This year, on a brilliant, breezy afternoon, the students, faculty and staff, along and the Board of Trustees, gathered in Swasey Chapel for one of the college’s most important celebrations of teaching and learning.

It started with a colorful procession of the faculty in full regalia and ended with the singing of Denison’s alma mater. In between, there was laughter — and a few sentimental tears — as Denisonians cheered their friends and colleagues, and members of the Class of 2009 at the convocation took another important step on their path to Commencement.
