Barn Dance at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio— A Barn Dance, which follows the tradition of contra dancing, an American form of folk dancing, will take place from 7:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, in the Welsh Hills Room of Denison University’s Burton D. Morgan Center (150 Ridge Road). The dance will feature folk music band Gallimaufry and dance caller Michael Hamilton. The dance is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Denison’s Open House, Campus Leadership and Involvement Center and the Center for Women and Gender Action. The dance will begin with a short period of practice lessons for beginners at 7:15 p.m. The series of changing partner and group dances will begin at 8 p.m.
