Author Lee Smith shares her work

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Notable fiction author Lee Smith will share her work at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the boardroom of Denison University’s Barney-Davis Hall (200 West Loop). Smith’s reading is presented by the Beck Lecture Series, in conjunction with Denison’s English department. The event is free and open to the public. A member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers, Smith has published 15 works of fiction, including her latest, “Mrs. Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger.” Her many honors include an Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Lila Wallace Readers' Digest Award, Thomas Wolfe Award, and in 2010 she received a Lifetime Literary Achievement Award from the state of Virginia. Her 2002 book, “The Last Girls,” was a New York Times Bestseller and recipient of the Southern Book Critics Circle Award.
