Speaker intertwines art and poetry

Marjorie Welish

Denison University’s Beck Lecture Series presents Marjorie Welish at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at the Denison Museum (240 West Broadway). The poetry reading is free and open to the public.

Welish is an artist, poet, painter and critic. She recently completed a Fulbright Senior Specialist Fellowship, teaching at the University of Frankfurt, Germany and Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. In the summer of 2010, Welish was an artist-in-residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her writing on art has appeared in several art publications and she regularly teaches at Brooklyn College, Columbia University and Pratt Institute.
