Bird walk at Denison Biological Reserve

GRANVILLE, Ohio— With more than 60 avian species, the Denison University Biological Reserve (Bioreserve) is an excellent location to observe birds in their natural habitat. A bird walk, led by manager Whitney Stocker, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at the Biological Reserve (1258 North Street, State Route 661 North). The bird walk is free and open to the public. It is recommended that participants bring binoculars and be prepared to walk in wet grass. The event will be canceled if it is raining or very windy. Encompassing 350 acres, Denison’s Biological Reserve was established in 1966 to enhance the education of students in biology and the environmental sciences through their courses, independent research and casual visitation. In addition to birds, the Bioreserve provides refuge for numerous amphibians, turtles, snakes, bats, rodents, flying squirrels, white-tailed deer and red fox.
