Lecture discusses “Interrupting Hate”

GRANVILLE, Ohio—A lecture, titled “Interrupting Hate: Homophobia in schools and what literacy can do about it,” will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the auditorium of Denison University’s Slayter Hall (200 Ridge Road). The lecture, given by Mollie Blackburn, associate professor of literacy, language and culture in the College of Education at Ohio State University, is sponsored by the Department of Education and the Queer Studies Program, and is free and open to the public. Blackburn focuses on the problems of heterosexism and homophobia in schools and explores how these forms of oppression impact all young people.
