Bluegrass Festival at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Denison University’s 8th Annual Bluegrass Festival features several renowned performers as well as workshops and rehearsal experiences to showcase the very best of bluegrass. Special guests stars include Blue Highway and string player Don Rigsby, vocalist Kathy Chiavola, banjo player Richard Bailey and bassist Mark Schatz. The festival runs from Friday, Feb. 10, through Saturday, Feb. 11 and all events are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Pamela Hughes at 740-587-6220 or visit www.denison.edu. ·      An open rehearsal at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, in the rehearsal room of Burke Hall (240 West Broadway).
 
·      “Bluegrass All Stars” concert featuring Don Rigsby, Kathy Chiavola, Richard Bailey and Mark Schatz and special guests the Denison University String Orchestra, directed by Andy Carlson and Casey Cook, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
 
·      Workshops from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, in Burke Hall (240 West Broadway).
 
·      Bluegrass Festival Concert featuring Blue Highway, with Andy Carlson and Casey Cook directing, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
