Justo Bolekia Boleka to speak at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Scholar and writer Justo Bolekia Boleka will deliver a lecture at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 1, in room 210 of Denison University’s Samson Talbot Hall (350 Ridge Road). This event, co-sponsored by Denison’s Global Studies Seminar and the Middle Eastern Culture Organization, is free and open to the public. Boleka is a writer from Equatorial Guinea who is exiled to Spain, where he teaches at the University of Salamanca. A member of the Bubi people, an African ethnic group based in Equatorial Guinea, Boleka has written multiple volumes of poetry about his culture. He also has published several books on linguistic and historical issues about Equatorial Guinea, the only Spanish-speaking country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
