Denison Art Collective rolls out Bowl-A-Thon for charity

GRANVILLE, Ohio—The Denison University Art Collective’s annual Bowl-A-Thon for charity will take place from 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, to 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, in the Bryant Arts Center (210 West College St.). Students, faculty, staff and community youth and adults are encouraged to come and create non-stop art for up to nine hours. The Bowl-A-Thon is free and open to the public. Participants can create the bowls by throwing clay on turntables, building it on slabs and other methods in the Bryant ceramic studio. The bowls will be glazed and fired in kilns, then later this fall, filled with soup and sold at a benefit to raise funds for the Licking County Food Pantry.

The Bowl-A-Thon is organized and sponsored by the Denison University Art Collective and the Studio Art Program. The Art Collective is a campus organization created to bring awareness of the arts to the community and to provide individuals with the opportunity to express themselves creatively in artistic settings.
