GRANVILLE, Ohio—Denison University will present a lecture “Leadership in a Changing World: An Evening with Senator Bill Bradley and Speaker Newt Gingrich,” at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive). Bradley and Gingrich were both born in 1943 and arrived newly elected in Washington, D.C. in 1979, one as a Democratic senator and the other as a Republican congressman. During their service in the Capitol, both earned recognition as opinion shapers who focused on large-scale reform.
The Mary Elizabeth Babcock Lectureship in the American Conservative Tradition at Denison University was established in 1981 through a gift by Mary Elizabeth Babcock. Babcock attended Denison and Harvard Universities an earned a Bachelor of arts degree from The Ohio State University. She also was the founder of the Mary E. Babcock Foundation in Johnstown, Ohio.
