Denison Hosts 10th Annual Career Day For Area College Students

Date of Event: November 14, 2002

Posted: November 11, 2002

On Thursday (Nov. 14) between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Slayter Union, Denison will host more than 75 employers and graduate/professional school representatives at the 10th annual Career and Graduate/Professional School Day. Area college students are invited to attend.

Attending a career fair is one of the easiest ways for students to collect career and employer information, as well as graduate school and law school applications and literature, according to Career Services Director Pam Allen. First-year students and sophomores are encouraged to ask questions about internships and summer employment opportunities. Juniors and seniors can talk with representatives from both profit and non-profit organizations about career paths, employment opportunities and graduate school options.

Represented will be such employers as ACNielson BASES, Fifth Third Bank, Northwestern Mutual, Prentice Hall Publishing, City Year, Lab Support and Peace Corps. Many law schools will be represented including University of Michigan, Washington University, Penn State, Dickinson, Case Western Reserve, University of Minnesota and Ohio State. There will also be representatives from American University, Case Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations, Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, Northwestern Medill School of Journalism, Xavier Health Services Administration and Ohio State School of Natural Resources. Many of these representatives are Denison alumni.
