The The Denison University Concert Choir, an 80-voice symphonic choir, is inviting community singers to audition to perform with the group this coming spring when the choruses from Pietro Mascagni's Italian opera, "Cavalleria Rusticana," will be the major work performed. The opera concert with the Denison University Orchestra is set for Friday, April 15. Established more than a century ago to study and perform choral masterworks, the Concert Choir is an ensemble with personnel being drawn from the University student body, the faculty and staff and local residents.

The choir rehearses from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday evenings in Swasey chapel on the Denison campus. Director Stephen Caracciolo is seeking singers with experience in choral singing. Gentlemen in the choir will need to have a black tuxedo and ladies will wear a full-length black dress. If needed, tuxedos may be obtained for approximately $105 and dresses for $60.

Audition times are planned for the weekend of Jan. 15 and 16, but other times may also be arranged with Caracciolo.
