Denison Chamber Singers Plan Program at St. Edwards

The Denison Chamber Singers will perform a concert centered on the theme for this year's First-Year Studies Program, "Dissonance and Harmony." Set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 10) at St. Edward's Catholic Church, the concert is titled "Dissonance and Consonance in Choral Harmony" and is free and open to the public. The choir is conduced by Associate Professor Bonnie Borshay Sneed, coordinator of choral music at Denison. It will include the music of modern composers as well as a celebration of Mozart's 250th birthday with his "Missa Brevis in F major.:
The Chamber Singers will have just returned from a weekend tour in the Chicago area with performances in Wilmette and Barrington, Ill. The Mozart piece will feature violinists Alexandra Wilson (a junior from North Hampton, N.H.) and Jordan Mora (a senior from Yarmouth, Maine). They study with Andrew Carlson, chair of the music department. Vocal soloists for the concert are: Ryan Gingo (Hamilton, N.J.), Jesse Koza (Lancaster), Brynn Lewallen (Centennial, Colo.), Melissa Nevola (Glenshaw, Pa.), Myles Rizvi (Essexville, Mich.), Catherine Sullivan (Cambridge, Mass.), and Allyse Treier (Akron).
The men of the Chamber Singers also will provide special music for the program. Kristen Grimshaw is pianist for the concert and Scott Hayes is organist.
