Davis Peace Project presentation by Dee Salukombo

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Dee Salukombo, a member of the Denison University class of 2012, will give a presentation about his Davis Peace Project experience at 4:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, in room 212 of Samson Talbot Hall (350 Ridge Road). Last summer Salukombo traveled to Kirotche, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to open a technology learning center for the village. He worked with village elders, the local hospital, local police and others to create the center. In addition to the $10,000 grant from the Davis Projects for Peace, Salukombo raised other monies to support the Torrens Learning Center, named in honor of Phil Torrens, Salukombo’s cross-country coach and surrogate parent at Denison.
