Movie night celebrates Day of Service

GRANVILLE, Ohio—The Denison Community Association, a student organization at Denison University that focuses on service to the campus community as well as Granville and Licking County, will take part in the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance on Saturday, Sept. 8. Activities for children and a screening of the movie “A Princess Bride” will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the Fine Arts Quad (240 West Broadway). The event is free and open to the public. Denison students will begin the Day of Service with a Licking River Roundup, in conjunction with the Licking Soil & Water Conservation. Together with Doug Spieles, associate professor of environmental studies, they will collect garbage from the river and its banks. The evening’s events are co-sponsored by Licking Memorial Hospital and will include the Hospital’s Active Fit Program, children’s games, voter registration and a trivia contest before the screening of the movie at 8 p.m.
