December music at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio— Denison University will host seven concerts in December. The concerts, with the exception of “A Joyful Noise” held at the Midland Theatre, are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Pam Hughes at 740-587-6220 or visit www.denison.edu. The concerts include:

 
·      Denison University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Mark Wade at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
·      The Denison University Concert Choir with the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra concert, “A Joyful Noise,” under the direction of Wei Cheng, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, at the Midland Theatre (36 North Park Place, Newark). Tickets are available through the Midland Theatre.
·      Student Composers Concert, under the direction of Ching-chu Hu at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Burke Recital Hall (240 West Broadway).
·      Denison University Gospel Choir Concert, under the direction of Tim Carpenter, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
·      Bluegrass Ensemble, under the direction of Andy Carlson and Casey Cook, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
·      Denison University Orchestra, under the direction of Andy Strietelmeier, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
·      A Service of Lessons and Carols, conducted by Kevin N. Wines, with University Chaplain Mark T. Orten, at 7 p.m, on Sunday, Dec. 9, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
