GRANVILLE, Ohio—Filmmakers Alain LeTourneau and Pam Minty will present their documentary “Empty Quarter” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, in the screening room of Denison University’s Cinema House (201 North Mulberry Street). LeTourneau and Minty will introduce the film and hold a question and answer session after the screening. An artists' talk about the film will be held the following day from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., also in the Cinema House. Denison’s Department of Cinema is sponsoring the presentations, which are free and open to the public. For more information, contact Jonathan Walley at walleyj@denison.edu or visit www.denison.edu.

“Empty Quarter,” shot in black and white, documents life in the farming and ranching communities of Southeast Oregon. The film abandons the traditional “talking head” info-tainment format of mainstream documentaries, and takes a quiet, evocative approach that invites the viewer to make their own meanings and come to their own conclusions about the subject.
